I’m Roy Moran and this is my wife Candy, we founded Shoal Creek as a community built on the simple conviction that Jesus should be safe to explore—not forced, not judged, and not boxed in. From the very beginning, Shoal Creek was created as a place where anyone could come as they are and ask real questions about Jesus, God, and the Bible. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we do promise curiosity, honesty, and a welcoming space to wrestle with life’s biggest issues.
On a personal note, I’ve lived in Liberty for decades. My children all graduated from Liberty High School, and today each of them has gone on to marriage, careers, and raising families of their own. Between them, they’ve given me the joy of nine grandkids who keep life loud, fun, and unpredictable.
I’ve always loved exploring people and ideas, thinking outside the box, and pushing past easy assumptions. That spirit shaped Shoal Creek and still fuels me today. And don’t let my age fool you—I may look older, but I had a TikTok account before most of you ever downloaded the app!
Shoal Creek isn’t about religion as performance; it’s about real people, real life, and discovering God’s reality together.
