 Melissa Gann is the Director and a Lead Teacher for Shoal Creek Community Preschool. She has been a Lead Teacher since the preschool began in 2003 and has been attending Shoal Creek Community Church since 1998 after an invite from a friend. Melissa has volunteered in our Kid Zone and ABC Zone programs on Sunday mornings and continues to serve in our leadership community. She also attends a women's small group, which she has been a part of for 11 years. Melissa went to K-State University where she studied Elementary Education with an emphasis in Art. While attending K-State, she worked at the Early Childhood Center and volunteered her time to tutor children. Since leaving K-State, she has taught at various Christian Schools and Early Childhood Centers. Melissa married her husband Randy in 1994 and they live north of the river. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, snow skiing, and camping. In her spare time she likes to landscape, make jewelry and craft.  Julie Hoeflicker is a Lead Teacher for Shoal Creek Community PreSchool. She has been attending Shoal Creek since the summer of 2000 after an invitation from her backyard neighbor. She has been a Small Group Leader and is currently volunteering as the ABC Zone Director.Julie married her husband Sean in 1990 and they have two children, Zach and Kaylee, a cat named Snickers and a guinea pig named Spaz. Julie and Sean are both originally from Lexington, Missouri. Since being married, they have lived in Texas, Kansas, and Colorado while Sean was serving in the Air Force. Julie enjoys crafting, baking, antiquing, and watching her kids in their activities. After being a stay at home mom for 11 years, Julie began a new role as a teacher for Shoal Creek’s preschool in the fall of 2006. She treasures the years she spent with her own children and is excited to bring what she learned and experienced in teaching her own children during those preschool age years to the classroom.  Alyssa Sanders is also a Lead Teacher for our preschool and has been attending Shoal Creek since it first started many years ago. She has been involved in many aspects of Shoal Creek over the years including the Children's programs, drama team, and high school ministry. Alyssa is currently serving in the Early Childhood Center on Sunday mornings. Alyssa and Ross live in Kansas City with their daughter Molly, born in May 2007, son Boone, born December 2009, and their two dogs Hank and Cash. Alyssa is originally from Liberty, Missouri, and Ross is from Platte City. They met in 2004 through mutual friends and were married in June of 2006. Ross works as a graphic designer/pressman for a printing company in downtown Kansas City. After a few years in Corporate America, Alyssa is overjoyed to be staying home with her children as well as teaching preschool part time.  Danielle Moerer, also a Lead Teacher for our preschool, has been attending Shoal Creek Community Church since the spring of 1999. She is involved in volunteering for Tot Zone and is a member of a small group. Danielle attended the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. She and her husband, Steve, were married in 1995 and have one daughter, Lana. While Steve is originally from Iowa, Danielle grew up in a military family and moved frequently while growing up. Currently, they live north of the river. Steve and Danielle enjoy antiquing together and have a booth at a local antique mall. Danielle also enjoys reading, dabbling in various crafts and gardening. Danielle enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for 7 years and became an assistant teacher at Shoal Creek’s growing preschool program in the fall of 2008. |
